yesterday, early in the morning i got an sms from quetzy, my friend who lives in bali. she said that she's coming to jakarta and want to meet me. since she's gonna stay here until friday, then i decided to meet her last night .
she stayed in the dharmawangsa and she asked me to come there after work to have a dinner somewhere. so i left my office at about 5.30 and arrive around dharmawangsa at about 6.45. when my taxi reached blok m, she said that she's still in a meeting and it'd end at 8. ok, so what should i do then ? i don't wanna wait her in the dharmawangsa, it's such a boring place for me . i asked the taxi driver to drop me in dharmawangsa square which is surprisingly... another boring place also. i decided to cross the street and end up in citrus cafe.
at about 8 i called quetzy and she asked me to meet her in her room. ya... and there she was, in the same room that she usually stays everytime she's in jakarta. after a chit chat, she told me that we'd have dinner with olivier, her french friend. olivier is a nice and funny guy. he works as a chef in riyadh and he's applying in the dharmawangsa.
then... the problem came. we had to decide where we wanna have dinner. i tell you, quetzy is a chef and olivier also. so, the place should be a good one. actually this kinda problem is always happen everytime quetzy comes to jakarta. she didn't want to have european food, indonesian food and she's never interested to eat on the street or in the mall. the last time i met her, we had dinner in the duck king, pim 2 (thanks to gusri at that time ). olivier didn't mind to have dinner anywhere, he even suggested to eat sate on the street. it was quite difficult last night because it was already 9. at first we were going to look for sushi but i don't know a good japanese restaurant which is still open around 9 and close to dharmawangsa.
finally i decided to take them to din tai fung in senayan arcade. kailan with garlic sauce, prawn mayonnaise, sliced beef and steamed chicken & prawn dumpling made me feel a bit guilty because i just took nasi rendang at about 4 . din tai fung is a good restaurant , too bad they don't have pork menu . we had a nice dinner there and end up in burgundy, grand hyatt for mojito and margarita. quetzy complained that there's no silver bird in senayan arcade which made us have to walk to hotel atlet and voila... there's no silver bird there and suddenly she came up with the idea "let's-take-the-blue-bird-before-i-change-my-mind". well that's quetzy... she complains often about (all) things in jakarta which is very different compare to bali. i guess 'complain' is her middle name hehehehe....
