The ASEANTA Awards for Excellence in Tourism gives recognition to ASEAN individuals and organizations which have contributed to the development and promotion of the ASEAN tourism product. This will be the 22nd ASEANTA Awards.

There are nine categories of awards for 2008 namely :
1. Best ASEAN Travel Article
2. Best ASEAN Poster
3. Best ASEAN Tourism Photo
4. Best ASEAN Tour Package
5. Best ASEAN Marketing & Promotional Campaign
6. Best ASEAN New Tourist Attraction
7. Best ASEAN Airline Programme
8. Best ASEAN Cultural Preservation Effort
9. Best ASEAN Conservation Effort

Best ASEAN Tourism Photo

Best ASEAN Tourism Photo which has best depicted ASEAN attractions as a melting pot of cultures.

Judges look for :
1. EFFECTIVENESS
The overall appeal of the photograph and its ability to motivate the viewer to 'want to visit' the destination
2. PRESENTATION
The illustration in terms of its appropriateness, accuracy, attention to details, attractiveness and presentation style.
3. ORIGINALITY
Startling differences the photograph may have which enhance its attractiveness and appeal and set it apart from others.
4. QUALITY
The photographic quality of the picture.

Rules & Regulations :
- Entries for this award are open to all
- The photographs must be published (print media) for the first time in 2006 & 2007
- A maximum of three entries may be submitted
- Each entry must be accompanied by :
a. the official entry form (which may be photocopied)
b. three copies of the original photographs (size 10" by 8")
c. three copies of the magazine in which the photograph appeared
- Entries which have been submitted to ASEANTA for consideration in previous years' ASEANTA Tourism Awards Competition must not be re-entered
- Judges will be appointed by ASEANTA which reserves the right not to award if, in the judges' opinion, entries are not of sufficient standard
- All entries must reach ASEANTA :
